Niha, in the Bekaa Valley, is a village known for its citadels dating back to the Roman Empire, some even further back to the Byzantine and Phoenician era. The citadels are grand, with an importance as big as Baalbeck’s.

The Roman emperor used to come from Baalbeck to spend summer in Niha. The word ‘niha’ means a place for rest. So what better place for the emperor to go?
