American University of Beirut (AUB)

The AUB Zaki Nassif Program presents: “Passage,” a concert by Charbel Rouhana and the Constantinople Group.

This concert is a musical voyage into the heart of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern musical traditions. Featuring some of the most pre-eminent heirs and creators from these lands, the concert presents ancient sounds and modes intertwining with new music composed by the virtuosos of the ensemble.

Six master musicians from Lebanon, Iran, Turkey and Canada will have strings and vocals meet to evoke the beauty of being since the beginning of time. In more than one hour they perform a joint passage through the common sites of imagination, similar to a long breath before the inexorable march of mankind in space and time. As a result, the public would be transported into a soul-stirring world of peaceful musical dialogues.
