The Qadisha valley is arguably one of the most beautiful of north Lebanon’s mountainous areas.
From the fertile Khoura plains which spread inland around Batroun, the valley climbs steeply in a deep gorge up to the amphitheatre of mountains that surround the Cedars. The area is dominated by Qornet es-Sawda (the black summit). At 3080 meters, it’s the highest peak in Lebanon.
Byblos & Beyond is organizing a hiking day in the Qadisha Valley, one of the worldʹs most incredible sites ‐ the Qadisha Valley, classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. From the village of Fraidis, participants will follow the footpath up the unpaved agriculture terrain.
