Family business enterprises are generally deemed a major instrument for pooling community savings into productive ventures. On a global level, such enterprises represent about 85% of total business enterprises, where they play a key role in overall economic development, generating wealth and creating new employment opportunities.

In Lebanon, family business enterprises constitute 85% of the private sector, which in turn, constitutes 90% of the economy, a percentage that is even higher in other Arab countries. Forecasts indicate the market value of enterprises that will be managed by new generations of Arab family business owners will exceed one trillion dollars.
