About the Movie
A biography of the dancer Isadora Duncan, the 1920s dancer who forever changed people’s ideas of ballet. Her nude, semi-nude, and pro-Soviet dance projects as well as her attitudes on free love, debt, dress, and lifestyle shocked the public of her time.

Biography
Karel Reisz was a Czech émigré–auteur who made several notable films in British New Wave cinema of the early 1960s. Later in his career he made a few Hollywood works that were hailed by critics, such as 1981’s The French Lieutenant’s Woman. Though the director made “only eleven features in his four–decade career,” noted New York Times journalist Rick Lyman about Reisz, “they were noted for their polish, ambition, and psychological acuity.”
