‘To Live In Autumn’ Book Launch

To Live in Autumn has been called “part love letter, part elegy” for Beirut, a “vibrant and sensitive” collection. Hashem Beck’s voice has been described as essential, honest, and authentic, carrying a “knowledge and an awareness of what it is to be human, to be a woman, to be raw with the constant anguish of a broken homeland.” Poet Lola Haskins writes about the book, “I thought- judging this contest- “This person is going to be an important writer.” And I still think so. Read her book and you will too.”

Hashem Beck will be reading from her book, engaging in a discussion with the audience, and signing copies. AUB creative writing students will also participate by reading some of their own work. The event will end with some snacks and refreshments.
