Metropolis Empire Sofil

Genre films come in multiple categories that require adequate time and patience to be explored, as they should. European cinema, in particular, has offered, throughout history, some of the most impressive and carefully executed science-fiction films, long before the reign of computer-generated images and visual effects.

Within the framework of the 21st edition of the European Film Festival in Lebanon, the Metropolis Association, in partnership with the cultural institutes of the European Union Member States, presents a selection of classic European science fiction films, most in their restored versions.

You will be intrigued by their advanced concepts of space, their visions of the perfect world and the new forms of future life they dreamed about… hop in, the ship is about to launch.

About the Movie
This is the story of a man who has a camera implanted in the brain, filming everything that he sees. This is the story of a woman, Katherine Mortenhoe, who runs away to “die free.” Desperate to escape the media, in this case a TV show, she is not aware that the person who is helping her escape is the very same person who is filming her.
