Not Flamenco: Dance Workshop with Yalda Younes

This workshop will tackle a contemporary and yet ancient approach to flamenco extracting it from its spanish realm and reaching back to its original roots: an avant-garde form of protest and liberation. Cleared from its national background, flamenco is then a universal language among others that one needs to reapropiate and continuously reinvent its style according to each individual’s expression.

The workshop is open to everyone – beginners, amateurs or professionals – who are curious to experiment this form of art on a personal level without the weight of the traditions.

Each session will start with a yoga-based warm up before we put our shoes on and tap into the ground, exploring the opposite and nurturing forces of the uprooting the feet into the ground and the deployment of the torso towards the sky.
