Eight Ways to Live a Happy Life

For starters, in order to live happily, you need to stop reading articles about how to be happy online. But since you’re here, take into consideration these eight things that are guaranteed to turn that frown upside down (as cheesy as that sound).

Eat

Eat a lot! Not enough to go up three pant sizes, but enough to not deprive yourself of the simple pleasures in life. It’s ok, reach for that last slice of pizza. You’ll hit the gym later.

Exercise

Yes, after three mana2eesh for breakfast and an entire farooj for lunch, you must exercise. Your muscles will ache and burn but you’ll feel a lot better afterwards.

Stop Comparing Yourself to Others

As cliché as it sounds, this needs to stop. Enough stalking your ex’s new bae on Instagram. Who cares if her extensions are a half an inch longer than yours?

Let it Be

Don’t always try to force everything to go a certain way. Some things just aren’t meant to be. It’s ok that your crush doesn’t like you back. It’s no excuse for you to follow him around all day and blow up his phone.

Pamper Yourself

Go on a shopping spree. Get a massage. Take a bubble bath. Do whatever you can do to unwind and give yourself some “you” time. Trust me; you’ll feel like a huge weight has been lifted off your shoulders.

Be Yourself

Random? Weird? Clumsy? Who cares! Just be you. The people who matter will stick around. The ones that don’t… well f*** ‘em.

Get Rid of Excess Baggage

As you get older, you’ll realize there are a lot of people in your life who no longer belong there. There’s no room for fake friendships. Toss out the ones that have no significance in your life.

Try Something New

Go on an adventure, skydive, bungee jump, or simply go on a hike. Save your money and travel the world. Each adventure is a new lesson learned so why not make it as exciting and as memorable as possible. After all, “you can’t live the same year 72 times and call it a life.”

Most importantly, if you want to be happy, you have to let yourself be happy.
