Kahkaha Fundraising Party for a new Playground at Sabra and Shatila

Thursday, Apr 2, 2015
7:00pm -> 11:30pm
The Back Door

The idea for Kahkaha was born when some activists realized that children in the camps lack a space to play safely, away from the risks of electrocution, harassment, and drugs. The exchange helps to further integrate young Palestinians with Lebanese society. Through Kahkaha, these children will acquire three skills: the ability to cooperate, to exchange, and to participate in making a change.

Kahkaha, which means “laughter” in Arabic and Turkish, is about fun and encouragement. Through participating in the activities, Project Kahkaha aims to allow both their volunteers and young Palestinians to learn about each other, laugh together, and increase the feeling of belonging.

This fundraising event is to help build a fourth playground in Sabra and Shatila refugee camp.
