In light of the 25th Anniversary of the end of the Lebanese Civil War, this symposium will discuss the persistent dilemma of dealing with Lebanon’s past, in the context of transitional justice. The debate will highlight the efforts that civil society and the international organizations are making to address this legacy of human rights violations, particularly focusing on the issue of the missing and forcibly disappeared. The symposium will include real testimonies from the Committee of the Families of the Kidnapped and the Disappeared, describing some of the efforts they have put forth to find their beloved ones.

Location: Issam Fares Institute.
