The International Writers’ House in Beirut is a not-for-profit organization governed by a board of directors and guided by an international Literary Committee.

Born in Gembloux in 1940, William Cliff is a Belgian poet writing in French.

He authored several books of poetry, including Autobiographie (1993), America (1983), En Orient (1986), and Epopée (2008). He is considered as one of the most prominent poets writing in French today.

In 2007, he was awarded the Grand Prix de Poésie of the French Academy (Académie Française) for his complete works.
