Tantra Yoga Workshop

Saturday, Apr 25, 2015
4:00pm -> 6:00pm
Beirut Yoga Center
This two-hours workshop combines yoga āsana (physical posture), prāṇāyāma (culturing of the prāṇa through and breathing exercise) and bandha (culturing of the prāṇa through diaphragmatic binding).

The first haf an hour is dedicated to a lecture on the traditional perspective of Tantra and Yoga. Following the introductory understanding of this unique form of yoga, follows a 1.5 hour series of āsana called the Tri-Dosha balancing series.

Recognizing the body as a balance of the five elements (the doshas) and the ethereal subtle energy of prāṇa this series is based on the science of Ayurveda (Indian natural medicine) to harmonize the whole being. It is a deep, moving meditation to relax every cell in the body and allow the yogi to experience his true self.

Tantra means divine essence. It comes from the root words tat and antra which are defined as essence of the essence. Tantra is the essential nature of life. The word yoga that comes from the root word yuj means union, to yoke together. Therefore tantra yoga can be explained as union with the essence, union with your essence.

Through combining the metaphysical science of essence of existence with the wisdom of yoga, as the union of spirit and matter, tantra yoga gives you a traditional framework for living your life to its fullest potential. The traditional tantra system that comes from the Rg Veda, doesn’t see separation among any aspects of yourself;

Tantra Yoga brings you to the essential nature, getting rid of neurosis and past conditioning, learning to see oneself as whole and complete. It’s all about discovering and developing your very own potential, it’s about how you express in life and have a fulfilled existence.
