FADE IN: Teen Creative Writing Program

Thursdays [From Jun 4, 2015 until Aug 27, 2015]
5:00pm -> 7:30pm
FADE IN:

This teen creative writing program is a three-month workshop for 15-18-year-old teens, to learn about all kinds of creative writing in a fun and safe atmosphere. It runs once per week, after school, and will cover novel writing, short story, poetry and even writing for movies. In the first month (four sessions), students will learn the different writing mediums, do writing exercises and share their work with each other. This way, students can learn different ways to tell a story and then choose their favorite. In the coming two months, students can choose a project and continue to work on it with the class. If they do not choose a project, they will continue to participate in writing exercises and the feedback-process in order to enhance their writing and communication skills.

Although this class covers creative writing, the techniques will cross over and help in academic and essay writing.
Led by founder and screenwriter, Nadia Tabbara, class is taught primarily in English, however Arabic can be spoken.

You do not need to have any writing experience, just a fun attitude and willingness to learn about the writing process.

It’s a place for you to experiment and have fun through storytelling and writing. You will learn how to think creatively and how to find your own, unique voice, in writing and in everything else. Although this class centers on creative writing, the techniques of the writing process cross over into anything they will ever write, including essays, presentations, even emails.
