6:30pm -> 9:00pm
FADE IN:

The fundamentals of story: A Creative Writing Workshop” will guide you through several writing concepts and give you the tools to tell an effective and moving story – no matter how you want to tell it. Using universal story concepts such as structure, character, idea-building and journey, this class will allow students to tap into their innate gift for writing by exploring its many forms including novel writing, film/TV writing and more.

Through various exercises, the students will apply the fundamentals across any type of storytelling and learn about the differences between them as well as what makes each tick. In the final session, each student will pick a project ; be it a novel, novella, short story, short film, TV pilot or feature film and would be expected to start working on it under the guidance of the instructor.

This class is taught by writer Jad el Khoury primarily in English, however Arabic and French will be spoken in class and translated as needed.
