Femenism and Religion Part II: Christianity

How does Christianity view the role of women in society? How is the topic of equality and women’s rights regarded by the church? The enthused audience and their desire to get even more perspective on the issue led us to continue discussing this topic and its relation to Christianity.
During our last Hiwar session on Feminism and Islam, heated issues were discussed. Issues regarding women’s role in the community, women and marital life, abortions, sexuality, homosexuality were all raised with Sayyed Jaafar Fadlallah and Ms. Leen Hashem, a feminist from Nasawiya.
