What the Electricity in Lebanon Has in Common With Alice in Wonderland

A few years ago, I realized electricity in Lebanon has a lot in common with the Cheshire Cat, a fictional character popularized by author Lewis Carroll in the novel, “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.”

If you think about it, both of them are cunning, unpredictable, mysterious and insane. (In the case of the electricity, it has the ability to drive you insane every.single.time!)

Both of them tend to disappear at random hours of the day. When the Cheshire Cat does it, he does it to intrigue you. When the kahraba goes, it pisses you off to no end.

Sometimes, it annoys you so much that you find yourself talking out loud to the inanimate object that is the electricity in a way that resembles Alice as she speaks to the disappearing cat.

Before you know it, you’re madder than a hatter…

Cheshire Cat: “Oh, you can’t help that. Most everyone’s mad here.”
