The One Martyr All Of Lebanon Can Actually Get Behind

Warning: This post contains Game of Thrones season 5 finale spoilers.

It has been a long time since Lebanese people have been able to rally around a single person; one group’s martyr is another’s villain and so goes the vicious cycle of Lebanese politics.

Until we found the martyr we can all get behind. The one man who embodied true selflessness and love, the man who fought for what’s right instead of greedily charging towards the Iron Throne, the man who died protecting us all: Jon Snow.

*pause for a crying break*

Photos of our beloved Brother and Martyr Jon Snow were spotted this week on the statue in Beirut’s Martyrs’ Square to remind the world that we will not forget.

We will not let his time on the wall go unnoticed. And of course, we will not forget the pain and anguish that author and renowned sadist George R. R. Martin has inflicted upon us.

Rest in peace Jon Snow, we will always remember when you tenderly lost your virginity to a wildling in a cave – your body looked so good that day.

We will always remember the time you shot an arrow through Mance Rayder’s heart to spare him the suffering of being burned alive – your body looked good that day too.

And finally, we will always remember your skillful use of the sword, both the Valyrian steel sword in your hand and the allegorical penis sword between your legs.
