Hormone Yoga Workshop with Samar

Saturday, Jul 25, 2015
12:00pm -> 2:00pm
Beirut Ananda Yoga Center

Since 1992 Dinah Rodriquez, a now 88 years old Yoga teacher and Dr. Of Psychology from Brazil, researches on the effect of certain yoga practice on the endocrine system. From these studies she developed a set of specific exercises to reactivate the hormone production.

A practice focusing on the glands developed by Dinah Rodriguez works with dynamic exercises on the areas where glands are situated and uses breathing techniques and prana channelizing in Asanas to stimulate the flow of blood and prana in specific areas of the body. It has also shown to lessen the chance of later ailments like Osteoporosis or the chance for Cardio-Vascular diseases. In younger women it helps to improve fertility and to remove premenstrual symptoms.

Hormone yoga also promotes a positive attitude towards the changes of Menopause, to be recognized as a natural and valuable phase leading to wisdom and maturity. A time in which new energies are set free and women can take more time for their own spiritual growth (Varnaprashta)

About the Trainer
Samar has been practicing yoga and meditation consistently for over 10 years, attending workshops around the world. In 2015, she did her Yoga teacher training at the Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham ashram in India, where she earned her spiritual name Shanti, the Sanskrit word for peace. Infusing her practice with lessons from her own life, Samar is dedicated to sharing the philosophy and science of yoga with people. She is known for her creative, nurturing, and personalized classes that give each student the attention and care they need to experience the essence and joy of yoga. Samar specializes in Hormone Yoga therapy for menopause and hormone imbalances.

Samar is always looking for ways to improve her teaching skills. While her continuous training keeps her growing, she credits her students with being the number one source of inspiration and humility. In fact, some of her most enriching life lessons are the ones she learned from working with children with special needs. These are the drivers of her culture of giving from the heart. That’s why, whether it’s on or off the mat, Samar’s goal is to help people reconnect with themselves spiritually, mentally, and physically.
