Balancing Opposite Emotions And Balancing On Your Hands With Dee El Najjar

Saturday, Sep 12, 2015
4:00pm -> 6:00pm
Beirut Yoga Center

Expect to flow playfully in this Vinyasa inspired workshop and cultivate the attitude that nothing is out of reach, most certaily not inversions and arm balances.

We break the patterns of mental excuses (all valid but truly unnecessary) which make us shy away from difficult poses: no more “too scary, too hard, too old, not strong enough”, but instead we will aim to give ourselves a chance at a deeper practise while having fun. Practicing yoga is not about assuming the full expression of the pose, but rather to take the long road; which allows for plenty of play along the way.

Whether you are new to yoga or well into your practice, Dee will definitely unleash your inner ninja and help demystify every pose you thought was not for you by making it accessible and helping you understand the principles behind them.

In this workshop, you will enjoy the stillness of meditation, feel the life force of pranayama, experience the challenging flow of vinyasa, the fortitude of asanas, the playfulness of arm balances and inversions, the inner journey of the yoga philosophy, and the beauty of experiencing what it’s like to allow the intelligent use of props and partner work to help us go deeper and further into the pose.

This is an open level workshop designed to “understand” every pose by breaking it down anatomically to help you gain a better understanding of your own body mechanics as well as the important role of the bandhas and the breath.
