The Most Annoying Instagram Hashtags

Instagram is a great social media app. Whether you’re having a great hair day, or your food looks great – the Instagram world can know about it in a few clicks! However, there has been an annoying hashtag trend that is keeping me from enjoying your amazing photography and deep inspirational captions. Here’s a list of the most annoying hashtags on Instagram:

1. #nofilter

I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but seriously, nobody cares. Nobody. We do not stare at your selfie and wonder whether or not you’ve used an Instagram filter, we don’t spend hours wondering whether you’ve Calvine’d yourself or not. Plus, I’m pretty sure all that make up you’re wearing counts as a filter in and of itself.

2. #swag

I’m not exactly sure what you mean by swag, but I’m also sure that you’re better off not following Justin Beiber’s toddler footsteps. It is not “swag” to smoke, it is not “swag” to drive, and it is definitely not “swag” to be wearing a baseball cap with the store’s stickers still on it!

3. #ootd

Long story short: this is not project runway, honey. Instagram is not a modeling agency; it’s not Haute Couture, so please stop. I’m sure you have a nice wardrobe, but keep YOUR clothes to YOURself.

4. #instamood / #instapic/ #instahabal/ #instafun

I can’t even…. What does that even mean? What are you trying to say? What’s the point of adding “insta” before any and every word?

5. #me

Oh thank God! Thank you! I really needed that clarification. I almost confused your selfie on your Instagram account as my grandpa’s cousin’s. Phew! Bullet dodged.

6. #verylonghashtagthatdoesntmakesense

I think this one speaks for itself….that is, if you can read it.

If you are guilty of 3 or more hashtags from this list, I suggest you do some serious meditation and take some lifestyle changing decisions.
