8 Fictional Deaths I Still Haven’t Gotten Over

If you’re anything like me, you’re basically a ball of emotions waiting to explode. You barely react when your friends stab you in the back or when your crush doesn’t give you a call, so people think you’re cool. But when Marlin’s fish-wife dies at the beginning of Finding Nemo, God help you. So as I wipe the tears from my keyboard, I bring you: Fictional Deaths I Still Grieve Over.

PS: Spoilers, obviously.

1. Mufasa from The Lion King

Possibly the most painful. Nothing made my eyes water more than when Simba discovered his dead father. The worst part: he died from being stepped on. He deserved better.

2. Buffy Summer’s from Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Okay, she died like three times but I cried more every single time.

3. Lady: Sansa Stark’s direwolf from Game of Thrones

The first of many deaths for House Stark and the first time I thought Joffrey was a little shit. She deserved better.

4. Oberyn Martell from Game of Thrones

I can watch this scene hundreds of times and still have Ellaria’s face when The Mountain gouges Oberyn’s eyes out. Also, the more I watch it, the more I feel I can change the outcome if I yell at the TV a little more.

5. Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones

Are you seeing a pattern here? I like Game of Thrones. His love for Dany was so beautiful.

6. Ellie from the movie Up

No one can make me shed tears like the Pixar team. The montage of the way Ellie and Carl fell in love made my heart soar, and when she died, I died a little inside. I included this GIF because I’m evil.

7. Jack from Titanic

The only thing worse than the way Jack died is that while Rose was comfortably floating on that piece of wood, not only could she have let him on, she had the nerve to tell him: “I’m so cold, Jack.”

8. Fred Weasley from Harry Potter

This one is so bad that J.K Rowling actually apologized for killing Fred Weasley.
