Buck is a Lebanese-American writer, actress, storyteller, and teaching artist dedicated to creating and facilitating intercultural connection and healing. She has lived, traveled, performed, and taught in over 20 Arab and European countries, in China, Australia, and throughout the United States. “Hkeelee” (Talk to Me) is an interactive storytelling performance about Leila’s Lebanese grandmother’s loss of memory, Leila’s own journey to hold on to her Lebanese heritage, and what it means to become American. It deals with questions of language, belonging, loss, and re-invention: what we hold onto, what we let go, and how those choices come to shape who we are. To reserve seats at the performance please contact Theatre Gemmayze at 76 409 109. During her stay in Beirut, Leila will also collaborate with the U.S. Embassy’s Public Diplomacy section on a series of workshops and round table in the framework of the Embassy cultural programs and in cooperation with Embassy cultural partners.
