Dance Film Screening: The Garden of Earthly Delight

Concurrent with Takween, Maqamat is starting a dance film series highlighting some of the works from Takween’s guest choreographers.
In this film portrait we learn more about choreographer Sasha Waltz through her work. It shows the development of her first choreography from 1992 up to her greater opera productions. The film illustrates her choreographical trilogy KÖRPER, S and nobody and her fascination with space and dance. Some of her most recent work shows the unusual combination of contemporary dance and old music, such as the opera Dido & Aeneas in 2007. This documentary gives us a glance into the life and work of the choreographer in a cinematic and entertaining way.
