Adonai Le Petit Libanais

Only a place like ADONAI LE PETIT LIBANAIS can transport you back to the authentic and marvelous Phoenician times of which the Lebanese are quite proud.

Founded by Bernard Mahfouz in 2010, ADONAI LE PETIT LIBANAIS is one of those cozy and comfortable eateries that set the benchmark for themed restaurants with an innovative ambiance amidst the stone paved pathways of the historical and romantic city, Byblos.

ADONAI is a Phoenician name that stands for the expression “my lord/master” with “Adon” meaning “lord”. The Greeks later borrowed the word and called their Greek God of beauty and desire Adōnis.

ADONAI LE PETIT LIBANAIS’s cuisine is distinguished with its specialty fekhara cooking technique (cooking food in pottery plates and bowls). All grilled platters are cooked in the fekhara for that unique traditional taste. The chef uses regional and homemade products freshly served on a daily basis. Weight watchers can rest assured, as all the menu’s items are cooked oil free.

We recommend you try ADONAI’s specialty dish called Mawkade, a fekhara filled with charcoal that gives customers the pleasure of grilling their own vegetables and benefiting from its heat to warm themselves up during the cold winter season.

The restaurant serves couples, tourists and food connoisseurs lunch, dinner and of course the customary hookah in its outdoor seating area both during the summer and winter seasons.
