L’atelier du Canape

L’atelier du canapé introduces a unique and wide selection of home furniture and accessories that match every style.

It all started in 1967 with the adventurous journey of Emile OBEID in his factory located in Sin El Fil – Horsh Tabet. At that time, Louis XV and Louis XVI furniture styles were in fashion and were the most requested and executed designs. A few years later, in 1975, the English-style furniture and modern sofas came into sight.

It was not until 1990 that Emile’s son, Jean OBEID, a design graduate and an art lover, joined the team with a new vision for business. Due to his efforts, many outstanding reforms have been introduced to the design and execution of every single element.

Each piece of furniture is very well conceived, explored and modeled before ultimately reaching the completion phase. The perfection and the finesse of the execution and finishing were paramount. The clear vision was coupled with ambitious goals: aiming high and going much farther with regular trips to Italy, the unarguable homeland and heart of furniture design, to keep track of the new techniques and booming trends. As a result, they had to expand their premises, import more sophisticated machinery, adopt a different business management approach and build better customer relationships with an all the more satisfied clientele who has got today all the facilities at hand: a wider choice and a flexible execution of its dream designs.

In 2008, as part of its business expansion plan, the company announced that it has added a new location spanning over 450 square meters in Rabieh to its Sin El Fil workshop, with a special corner dedicated to the most exclusive equipment for the genuine leather creations. In 2011, the factory was labeled “L’Atelier du Canapé”.

The treasured clients can be sure that “L’Atelier du Canapé” will not only look after their sofas, but also will handle with extra care each piece of furniture that will find its particular space in their lives and apartments
