FADE IN: Screenwriting I

The Lebanese movie and TV industry is looking for GOOD scripts with believable characters, interesting plots and dialogue that is true to life – now, more than ever. You don’t need to be in the cinema field in order to write your idea, you just need a small push and a bit of guidance, and we’re here to give it to you!

If you have an idea for a script and no idea how to write it.
Or, if you have written scripts in the past, but feel like there’s something missing, FADE IN: want you.

SCREENWRITING I is the first step in FADE IN:’s creative track program, the first step towards the creative lifestyle of a writer.

In this six session course, students are introduced to the art of screenwriting and effective storytelling for movies. By the end of the course, they will be well-versed in how to generate ideas, fight the myth of writer’s block, format a script, create believable characters and write realistically witty dialogue.

The class with screenwriter Jad el Khoury, will be taught in English. Writing must be in English, however, Arabic will be spoken and dialogue of scripts can be in Arabic if screenplay is set in an Arab country.

After completing this course, students are eligible to move up on the creative track to SCREENWRITING II where they will continue their journey towards completing movie scripts and understanding the concepts behind writing for the screen.
