The Mayor of Paris and Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota, director of City Theatre, pay tribute to the great Palestinian poet, Mahmoud Darwish, a year after his disappearance. This event is supported by Ms. Hind Khoury, General Delegate of Palestine in France. The trio invites you to an exceptional evening of music, poetry and sentiment. Known for about ten years now for his creations and his sense of improvisation in the Arab tradition of Maqam. Joubran Trio – three oud players and brothers – have regularly accompanied the voice of Mahmoud Darwish, one of the largest contemporary Arabic poets. This is a rare opportunity to hear the voice of this verbal magician whose poetry, rooted in the heart of his homeland, Palestine, and touched the universe.
