“Two Heads and a Hand” Theatre Workshop
Theatre workshop with Zoukak Theater Company in partnership with the British Council, as part of a new creation based on texts from Shakespeare’s plays.

Zoukak has started working on a new small production based on several texts and figures of power from Shakespeare’s history plays and dramas. “Two Heads and a Hand” is a reflection on recurrent forms of merciless power, as demonstrated through archetypes of patriarchy that dominate our region. The play, produced by Zoukak, in partnership with the British Council and with contribution form Al Madina Theater, will premiere in October 2016 within “Twenty Years of Al Madina Theatre Festival”.
As part of the research on this play, Zoukak members, Maya Zbib and Lamia Abi Azar, will lead a workshop with a group of amateurs and professionals from any background, to reflect together on figures of power in their respective contexts using Shakespeare’s texts as reference.
The workshop will include theatre improvisation and composition exercises, using Zoukak’s tools of performance creation.
