About Mona
Monà is a soprano of Lebanese origins. She was born in Tripoli, North of Lebanon. Growing up, her passion for dancing and music in general, and classical music in particular, started to develop during early childhood. She turned her focus to classical music, starting with private violin lessons at a very young age, she then joined the Lebanese Higher Conservatory of Music to sharpen and enrich her skills as a violinist. This step opened the doors to the world of opera for her. After a few years of being an Opera student at the conservatory, her musical and vocal education were then continued at the Antonine University – Baabda.

From Lebanon, she decided to persue her vocal and Opera studies abroad. Italy was her country of choice, specifically at the Higher Institute of Musical Studies – G. Briccialdi (Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali – G. Briccialdi) where she got her Masters’ degree in Opera singing.

Monà owes her vocal skills to the vocal educator and soprano Damiana Pinti, alongside with the renown Mezzo-Soprano Ambra Vespasiani and the Soprano Adriana Morelli, as well as many other Lebanese and Italian teachers. However, her vocal capabilities are not exclusively limited to opera as she also rounds-out her vocal and musical studies through exploring other musical forms like jazz. In fact, while in Rome, she participated in seminars and workshops held by the great pianist and jazz educator, Dr. Barry Harris as well as Prof. Bob Stoloff, Universidad San Francisco de Quito. Along with opera and jazz, oriental music and Tarab have had their share in Monà’s versatile music career as well.

Singing is not her only achievement; Monà also happens to be the Founder of the choir “Coro della Chiesa di Sant’Alò” – Terni, back in November 2012, and the leading vocalist of the “Orchestra Garbatella Multietnica”.

Monà is currently living in Beirut where she sings and teaches.
