Synthesizer Workshop: Introduction to Synthesis

In its series of workshops and seminars, Dawawine proposes a seminar with DJ and electronic musician Ziad Moukarzel on synthesis.

What is a synth? How does it work? How can it be so simple and yet so complex? All these questions and more will be answered during the seminar which will include a notion on how sound work, a brief history of synths and the major types of synths and synthesis.
The seminar will focus on the most common type of synthesis, through an in-depth look on the main components of a synthesizer and their function in the creation of sound.

The seminar will include a selection of analog, digital and virtual synthesizers for demonstrations and try-outs.
