On his birthday, Najib Al Rihani got from Sayid Darwish a photograph with a handwritten note on it reading “From a dead man to the dead”.
From this, Metro were inspired to shape an audiovisual, musical and theatrical rendition of Sayid Darwish songs – he who initiated the Arabic song following the renaissance – which he has composed in the beginning of the previous century. Yhey’ve remolded the songs while emphasizing on the dark demonic side of the composer of the Egyptian national anthem.
