Attention Beirut: There’s A New Parking App You’re Going To Love
It actually just became available earlier today!
The app is called Parkr, it is free to download on the App Store and will soon be available for Android users as well.
The company is a startup consisting of AUB graduates who got sick of the parking problem in Beirut, so they decided to take matters into their own hands.
It was made possible by going through Speed@BDD, an accelerator program in the Beirut Digital District. It’s always refreshing to see entrepreneurs investing in making Lebanon a better place.
Back to Parkr – the way it works is fairly simple for the user: you head to your destination and search for an available Parkr affiliated spot beforehand. A QR code is generated and you use that to access your reserved parking spot. Run your errand while the meter runs on the app, so you see how much time and money you’re spending. Pay the parking attendant as you’re leaving – that’s it!
The app will be affiliated with five parking lots by the end of the week, and is working to activate more and more in Beirut so keep an eye out on all the spots that will be opening up.
This really removes the hassle out of parking in Beirut, and ensures that you won’t arrive at your destination only to be turned away from several parking lots. It is efficient and simple to use – check it out and let us know what you think!
