Beyond Representation: A Painting Workshop

This workshop is addressed to anyone who enjoys acrylic painting (or wishes to learn it) and is also interested in experiencing a possible form of contemporary art practices.

The exercise will start with the representation of a still-life with acrylic painting. Progressively, actual art-related thoughts and practices will be introduced to the work and become themselves layers of the completed artwork.
The experience will make it possible to raise and discuss several contemporary questions that are process-related offering the participants new possible approaches to the way they perceive and conceive their artwork.

At the end of the workshop participants will have:
– Learned or revisited the acrylic painting technique
– Completed one acrylic painting
– Been implicated in an art-process experience that articulates the discourse of their work towards contemporary issues.
