Creative Talk: Life, Photography and My Mother

Monday, Aug 21, 2017
8:30pm -> 11:00pm
AR_KA

Award-winning photographer Vladimir Antaki is a visual storyteller with an uncanny ability to get to his subjectsʼ core. Growing up in a traditional Lebanese family where being an artist was a hobby and not a career, Antaki will be sharing his personal story and how he managed to escape and break this circle.

Freshly arrived to Beirut from Toronto where his work was featured at the prestigious Nuit Blanche, an annual, city-wide celebration of contemporary art, Antaki will tackle a series of matters including but not limited to family pressure, artistic freedom, surving in a corporate world as an artist, how to tell a story and capture visually striking images. The talk will feature stories that will seem like they were made up but are 100% real.
