Accounting for Artists will cover the following areas:

Part one: Intro to Accounting
1. Why is accounting knowledge useful for us?
2. Why as individuals we need to do the book keeping for our business?
3. Who are the third parties we deal with in our business?
4. Clients (receivables)
5. Suppliers (payable)
6. Banks (cash)
7. Government
8. Contractors
9. Employees
10. Consultants

Part two: Accounting for artists
1. How to establish a business?
2. Type of businesses
3. Agreement contract
4. Why do we need supporting documents for every transaction in the business?
5. Email correspondence
6. Invoicing
7. How to avoid bad debts?
8. How to charge clients for services (if applicable)?
9. Time value?
10. How to arrange a business stock (if applicable)?

Part three: Government submissions
1. MOF registration and number
2. MOF number labeled on all documentation and forms
3. Maintain legal papers of the business and update them yearly
4. Legal papers authentication and registration in necessary parties
5. Deadline for taxes submission
6. Tax on salary
7. Income tax
8. Vat
9. NSSF
10. Are consultants needed for every type of business (lawyer, auditor, accountant)?
