The Banana Cognacs Live at Knock on Wood

The Banana Cognacs was first formed during the latter half of 2009.

As the members jammed, combining funk/folk/reggae style with blues and jazz, their unique sound started to be performance worthy.

However, the Banana Cognacs, were still lacking in vocals when Double A The Preacherman was invited in as lead vocalist, after recording a sketch freestyle demo (The Double A Conspiracy that is attached) with the band.

The Banana Cognacs style is quite diverse in terms of contrasting music backgrounds, but the main elements are funk and blues with some MC’ing that takes it to a hip hop pitch.

The list of venues under the Banana Cognacs’ belt range from Dany’s pub in Hamra street, Fete de la Musique, Maraya 2010 – Hamra Streets Festival to the most recent, The Beirut Music and Art Festival.

Now a year old and still fine tuning their 14 song original repertoire, the Banana Cognacs are actively seeking to expand both in experience and reach.
