An-Nahar Staff Member Among Dahiyeh Blast Victims

Very little is so far known about the 24 victims killed on Thursday in the car bombing that ripped through the southern Beirut neighborhood of Ruwaiss.

One of the victims, however, has been identified as a non-editorial staff member of An-Nahar newspaper. Mohammad Safa, 34, was employed as an accountant at the newspaper. He is survived by his wife, Rania Sherri, and also leaves behind two daughters, Lynn and Julia.

NOW Media has identified some of the other victims as: Hassan Ramadan, Batoul Diab, Ahmad Halawi, Afif Daher, Hamad Daher Mokdad, Hussein Baydoun, of the Ghamlouch family, another of the Karout family and three members of the Darwich family. Additionally, an entire family was found dead in one of the building’s elevators. Their identities have not been confirmed.
