The latest being Maki restaurant on Sunday September 15, it is now more clear than ever that Lebanon’s hospitality sector this summer has suffered the most.

Maki Group’s spokesperson Joe Houjeili told Beiru.com that the Maki’s management decided to suspend its operations in Lebanon for the moment being hoping they could reopen soon saying: ” We’d rather call it suspending operations in Lebanon because we still believe we can reopen again hopefully soon enough.”

According to Executive Magazine, the Ministry of Tourism reported that the first seven months of 2013 had around 750,000 visitor arrivals, down by 43 percent when compared with the same period in 2010 and 13.5 percent lower than between January and July of last year.

Rumors circulated that Americana Group in Lebanon decided to shut down their businesses of food chains for good with restaurants like Signor Sassi.
