In general, we have no respect – nay, respect is too good a word – more like awareness of the law. And I’m not just talking judicial law, no; we’re way past that. We completely disregard all laws: laws of human nature, laws of science, laws of basic common logic. You can’t even walk down the street without witnessing something completely bizarre: from the argileh guy lighting his coals while driving a motorcycle to the stores selling necklaces made of dried fish scales (I kid you not, this exists) and don’t get me started on pirated DVDs.
