Photomed Liban 2015: In Photos

Photomed Liban, the Festival of Mediterranean Photography, is organized in partnership with Byblos Bank, by Philippe Heullant, Photomed president, Serge Akl, Director of the Office of Tourism of Lebanon in Paris and co-organizer, Simon Edwards, artistic director, and Tony El Hage, co-organizer.

The Festival exhibitions openings were held consecutively at Byblos Bank Headquarters in Achrafieh; at Hotel Le Gray; at Saifi Village; at Beirut Jewellery Souks; at the Institut français de Beyrouth; and at Station.

Photomed Liban showcases, until February 11, 2015, the works of the following international and Lebanese photographers : Mimmo Jodice, Barbara Luisi, Silvia Camporesi, Simona Ghizzoni, Beatrice Pediconi, Fabrizio Bellomo, Massimo Siragusa, Patrice Terraz, Paolo Verzone, Bernard Plossu, Leila Alaoui, Arslane Bestaoui, Keiichi Tahara, Angel Albarran-Anna Cabrera et Serge Najjar, in addition to the exhibition of the archived photo collection of the Ministry of Tourism and the photo collection of the Bibliothèque Orientale of Saint-Joseph University, as well as the video art collection of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie.

In parallel, within the framework of the Festival, workshops will be held from February 5th until 7th, at the Information Center, Beirut Jewellery Souks, under the theme “Génération Image”: Comment bâtir une oeuvre photographique.

From the press photo to photojournalism, from the analog image to the digital world, from the editorial to the illustration, from the committed documentary to the contemporary art scene, all these movements will be presented through the real life stories and experiences of the renowned photographer and visual artist Samer Mohdad.
