Snickers: good. Osmalliye: good. Cheesecake: good. Win, win, win! If you haven’t read my review about the launch of Nasma Beyrouth’s new menu, you can check it out here. Desserts galore await. Tip: Save A LOT of room in your stomach!
A Lebanese favourite (knefe) has been transformed and fused with an international favourite (Nutella) and then combined with ice cream? Who doesn’t love ice cream?! There’s a sweet component in this dessert for everyone’s preferences!
This is one of my favourite non-traditional oriental desserts I’ve tried in Lebanon – if you haven’t tasted the specialty Tamriyeh dessert at Babel, you’re really missing out! It’s based on a smooth date paste topped with creamy almond ice cream, carob molasses, and nuts. It’s well worth every calorie!
I can’t tell you enough how delicious this dessert is! I’ve tried it at many restaurants, but this one still comes out on top! Aromatic flavours of rose, almond, marzipan, and Ashta ice cream sprinkled with lots of Lebanese cotton candy (also known as “Ghazel Banet”) and crushed pistachios. Yum!
Another twist using Lebanese cotton candy: A Crunchy “Barazek” cookie base topped with thick Ashta ice cream (our favourite!) and lots of fluffy cotton candy! Oh and that sweet caramel drizzle finale. Mmm.
Do you have any other vamped up oriental desserts that we missed? Please leave a comment so we check them out!
