This Roller Skating Girl’s Squad Is The First Of Its Kind In Beirut

You may or may not have ever heard of this unusual sport, but Roller Derby has just been introduced to Lebanon by a small group of students at AUB. Forming the country’s first team, these passionate young women are from all over the Arab world, many being from countries with volatile battles currently going on in their hometowns.

Most of the girls are also a part of AUB’s scholarship program, and are as dedicated to their studies as they are to having fun despite the troubles their families may be facing at home.



This short but sweet video clip will introduce you to the group of inspiring young girls, narrated by Hadeel Al Hubaishi, a young Yemeni AUB student with a passion for laughing and getting back up every time she falls down.
