Getting tired of the typical Nutella crepe and baklava? Here are a few cool places to satisfy your sweet tooth in Beirut.

A really cool concept cafe recently opened in Mar Mikhael that sells cookie creations. Their specialty is the SmushKie, which is your choice of two cookies, a scoop of ice cream and toppings, smushed into an ice cream cookie sandwich. Not your cup of tea? How about a cookie espresso shot, or my absolute favorite, the warm chocolate chip cookie skillet?
2. Crumbleberry’s
Hidden behind Goodies in Verdun, you’ll find an adorable family-owned dessert parlor with a constant supply of delicious cakes and satisfying chocolate filled cookies. If you’re in Verdun, be sure to try their Nutella stuffed cookies and Lotus cheesecake. And just about everything else, of course! You can read more about them here.
3. Better from Scratch
Cookie dough meets creativity at Better From Scratch, as Nahlan Saadeh, the talent behind this dessert shop invites you to enjoy her passion for baked goods. You’ll find everything like cake pops, cupcakes, and cookies but nothing like the ones you’re used to. Her cookie dough cupcakes are addictive. You’ve been warned.
4. Dar Bistro and Books
Though this is not a strictly dessert place, they have some great desserts on their menu! I’ve been in pursuit of some quality cheesecake in Lebanon for some time now and I was starting to get fed up with the creamy slices of milky cheesecake until I found the awesome New York cheesecake at Dar Bistro and Books. Their pain perdu is also worth a try.

Crunchy Flakes is Lebanon’s very first cereal cafe, and while you can opt for a healthy bowl of oats or cornflakes, they also have a variety of sweet cereals and specialty milkshakes to choose from. The toppings will really satisfy your sweet tooth as you can choose as many as you want from chocolate chips, biscuits, candy, chocolate syrup, fruits, and so much more.

A home bakery and online shop, Home Sweet Home is gaining attention faster than you can say cookie dough. I tried their red velvet whoopie pie (cookies and cream), red velvet Oreo truffle brownie, brownie cookie dough sandwich, cookie dough stuffed Oreo, cookie dough Oreo truffle bomb, Reese’s Cup stuffed cookie, and the red velvet cupcake stuffed with Oreo truffle. If you like red velvet, Oreos, cookies, or basically anything sweet, you should definitely give them a try.
