Beirut born jeweller Samer Halimeh has opened his biggest store in London, the billionaire capital of the world.
Samer Halimeh is known to dress royals and superstars in his masterpieces, from Naomi Campbell, Oprah Winfrey and Sir Elton John to royals from the Arab world. It’s no wonder he’s chosen to open his next store in London’s exclusive Knightsbridge, home to the luxury department store Harrods and a £140 million penthouse. Makes sense.
The most expensive item in question is a £20 million, 65 carat “Vivo Per Lei” diamond ring . Yes, twenty million British Pounds, almost twenty five million dollars. The store cost him around £10 million to open and required two whole years of construction.
For those who may think that breaking in to such a store would be easy, Samer is (obviously) one step ahead of you. The basement volt has 12 tonnes of reinforced concrete, motion sensors, CCTV cameras and infra-red beams – making it the most fortified store in London.
I don’t even think we can afford the oxygen inside.
Since, at Beirut.com, we can’t quite resist a laugh, we’ve compiled a short list of things you can buy for £20 million instead:
1. A lot
2. 40 houses?
3. 20 yachts
4. Maybe that car you’ve always wanted
5. …in every single colour
6. And a couple of flats
7. How about solidifying your great, great, great, great, great grandchildren’s entire future’s
8. And their grandchildren
9. Basically, absolutely everything
Nevertheless, we want to say mabrouk to Mr. Halimeh, and we wish him the best of luck with his new store!
