Chop, Chop! This Restaurant Is Every Meat And Sushi Lover’s Dream

Step into a world of culinary magic at SteakBarSushi, which serves – you guessed it – steak, sushi and a full bar.

Please note that this is not a sponsored post, but purely based on a great experience.

Upon entering, you’ll know that you’ve stepped into something a little different, with sensual dim lighting and Japanese blossom trees scattered around the place – transporting you into a different world. Once you’re seated, your waitress will bring you a paper to sign, pledging that you’re ready to “surrender” to the full SteakBarSushi experience. “Your five senses will be pushed to the limit” it said. I must admit, I was afraid. However, a short moment after, I noticed the cluster of knives that were resting on our table, butcher’s knives, that you can choose from to help you carve in your steak.

This is definitely not the place to bring your significant other if you’re about to break up with them.

It wasn’t long after arriving that the owner, Charbel, popped by to our table to introduce himself. From a long line of butchers, Charbel handpicks all the meat himself, which explains why every last detail was nothing short of perfect. And we mean every last detail. The salt isn’t re-packaged Spinney’s salt, but Himalayan salt soaked in wine for the perfect taste. The beer is imported from Monaco (at 8,000 L.L. – cheaper than Almaza in most pubs), and the sauces freshly made with the finest ingredients.

Prices vary, with ribs starting at 26,000 L.L. and filet gourmet at 25,000 L.L. However, they reach the 100,000 L.L. mark, so how much you spend depends on exactly what you’re looking for. Your steak is served on a sizzling hot slab, keeping it at an ideal temperature, and if you’re as picky as I am, allowing you to tailor its doneness to perfection.

If your meat is served with a shot of whiskey, be prepared for a very hot treat… literally:

The skewers to start with are our top pick, with a range of juicy flavours to sink your teeth into, including scallops wrapped in bacon, beef bathed in chilli sauce, or teriyaki and much more.

The sushi is also another top pick, with scrumptious flavours and immaculate presentation that is fit for an Instagram queen.

What really sends guests into a frenzy is the Whiskey Overdrive, a cocktail that infuses two of Earth’s greatest gifts – bacon and whiskey.

Top off your meal with an orgasm – not a real one (although we came close), but a chocolate one. Chocolate engulfed in a chocolate ball which is only revealed when more chocolate is poured on it, costing a humble 15,000 L.L.

SteakBarSushi brings something new and exciting to Lebanon’s restaurant scene, fusing two sought after cuisine’s with a touch of luxury. You’ll bump into all sorts of familiar faces from your TV screens, although an evening here doesn’t have to break the bank. Although, it might just break your diet, for all the right reasons.
