Movie Review: Dunkirk

Christopher Nolan’s long awaited movie, Dunkirk, is now at the movie theaters.
He’s not only the director, but also the writer.

It’s a thriller-war movie about the battle of Dunkirk at the Belgian borders and the fight for survival during WWII.

It has stunning visuals, and all the camera shots and angles are outstanding.
As always, Nolan works with Hans Zimmer to compose the score for the movie. He’s one of the greatest movie composers of all time, so expect breathtaking music and stunning scenery that will help you indulge in every moment.

This movie is not a standard war movie. It doesn’t show the perspective of only one character, but rather it is a collaborative experience of all of those involved in war from the beginning to the end.

The movie showcases the events happening from different perspectives to move the story forward with the actions taken by its different characters.

Some people might think it’s slow, and has no clear closure. But, I think it’s how the director wanted to go with the story, and if it was faster, all the emotions and the impact of disturbance wouldn’t be as effective.

My Rating: 8.5/10
