Mona Baalbaki is a name we hadn’t heard until yesterday. Heading up the pharmacy department at Rafic Hariri University Hospital, Baalbaki had access to all the drugs administered at the hospital and is now being accused of dispensing fake cancer treatment drugs.
This atrocious crime has allegedly been going on for eight years, during which the accused admitted to swapping out the pricey cancer treatment drugs (which are given to the hospital for free by the Ministry of Health) for expired or fake ones, and would sell the real drugs for personal financial gain.
The investigation into Baalbaki’s actions has taken over two years, during which she fled to Saudi Arabia. As of August 1st, 2017, Baalbaki’s license to practice has been revoked and the pertinent legal offices are taking action against her.
People on Twitter are calling for her to be charged to the fullest extent of the law, some even pleading for her execution.
