Lebanon has always had a lot to offer when it came to the arts, but if you’re Lebanese and you don’t know about these excellent music acts, you should check them out ASAP. Here are the 5 Lebanese indie acts you should know about.
1. The Wanton Bishops
Forrmed in 2011, this excellent rock duo is comprised of Nader Mansour and Eddy Ghossein. Check out their page to see where you can see them perform next.
2. Interbellum
Self described as a “Beirut-based musical project”, this band creates great tunes with haunting lyrics. Check out their new album “Now Try Coughing” here.
3.Safar
Safar creates some of the most beautiful music you’ll ever hear. They’re Elie Abdelnour, Mayssa Jallad, and Fadi Tabbal. Their music will stay with you long after you go through their excellent EPs. Check out where you can see them next here.
4. Postcards
Postcards is a pop/alternative rock band formed in 2012 by band members Julia Sabra, Marwan Tohme, Rany Bechara, and Pascal Semerdjian. They’re releasing their first full length album in January, and here’s where you can find out where to see them before then.
5. Kinematik
This instrumental rock band comprised of Anthony Sahyoun, Rudy Ghafari, Roy Khazen, and Akram Hajj relies heavily on interesting distorted sounds and evocative melodies in their music. Make sure to check out their music.
