Adopt Today LB: An Amazing New Initiative That Promotes Animal Adoption In Lebanon

Here’s to starting 2018 on a good note! Thanks to a brand new initiative called AdoptTodayLB, furry friends around the country have a better chance of finding the loving homes they so gravely deserve.

Stephany Kassouf, an animal lover from Lebanon, and someone who has adopted a series of cats over the years, took her passion to the next level at the start of this new year. Proud of the fact that Lebanon has experienced an increase in social awareness about animal adoption and welfare in recent years – all thanks to the admirable animal welfare organizations around the country, Kassouf wanted to build on their commendable cause. Rather than focusing on the sad stories behind most of Lebanon’s rescued animals, Kassouf plans to have a new approach: showing them with fun and playful stories and pictures that truly reflect their exuberant and loving characters. So she ventured on a new project, named Adopt Today LB, in partnership with a series of animal welfare organizations around the country, to help portray the dogs and cats at animal shelters around Lebanon in bright, lively, and loving ways.

Her first endeavor was with APAF (Animals Pride and Freedom), where she held an extensive photoshoot with several of the dogs at their shelter. The dogs are photographed in a playful way, set against a bright colored backdrop and with portrait-style photographs that truly portray their characters. Below each picture is a short story about the dog or cat’s life, who they are, where they came from, and what their character is like.

Adopt Today LB’s main mission is to help paint the dogs and cats in need around the country in a positive light, to help encourage Lebanese people to adopt one of them instead of buying from a pet shop. Kassouf plans to continue this project by partnering up with the vast animal welfare facilities in Lebanon, so stay tuned to their Instagram page to keep a look out for the fun-loving faces that are sure to come your way. Because the project is still new, they’ve only posted a few pictures of dogs so far, but you can be sure to expect the pictures and their respective adorable stories to keep coming in, with dogs and cats, puppies, and kittens galore.

See for yourself the dogs that have already been photographed below, and try to tell us that you can resist giving them a forever home!

Please note: Adopt Today LB is not an animal shelter nor an NGO. It simply serves as a medium between animal shelters and people looking to adopt. Under each photograph you’ll find the shelter at which the animal is being boarded. You can then contact that shelter for inquiries about the animal.
